I am guilty of not following up on Google or Yelp reviews. So we started to look at old reviews and send a way over due thank you note for the reviews. I will confess I never look at Yelp and when I did this is the first review that I saw. Holy Moses -what a nice review.

If I could give Mortgage Magic (MM), Doug Jones and his team 10 stars, I would. My husband’s family has known Mr. Jones for over 20 years now. MM helped his parents and two older brothers purchase their homes. In 2011, MM helped my husband purchase his first home in the Fremont area. We’ve lived there for 5 years now and love our community.
Since I was not very involved with the purchase of our first home, I had only heard of Mr. Jones’ professionalism. This time around, I got to experience it first hand when my husband and I decided to purchase an investment property in the San Fernando Valley.
Mr. Jones went above and beyond to help us with this purchase. I will share that my husband and I were committed to purchasing a home down in the Valley in order to help my parents live closer to family and my siblings. They were living out in Palmdale, CA but were not very happy.
From the get go, Mr. Jones demonstrated an upmost professionalism and work ethic. The difficulty with the purchase involved the timing and location. Mr. Jones and MM were in the Bay but we wanted to purchase in LA. But that didn’t stop Mr. Jones. He came down to visit some homes with my husband and me. He called and dealt with some pretty unprofessional people just to ensure we got the best deal. He even came down with his wonderful wife, Trudy, to LA despite being ill in order to be present the day of a property inspection. Boy are we glad he was there! He was honest about the condition of the property; it wasn’t worth our time.
After 3 failed offers, we finally found the perfect home. Mr. Jones and MM were prompt, responsive, and drove down to look at the property when my husband and I couldn’t due to our work schedule. Some may think we are crazy, but we didn’t even look at the property in person before purchasing! But that’s because our family in LA had seen it and because we had trust in Mr. Jones and his team to do right by us.
And right by us they did. We are so incredibly blessed with our new home down in LA. It’s been about 2 months now and my parents live comfortably. My father was so impressed with Mr. Jones that he decided to retain his services in order to sell his home in Palmdale and move back to the Valley into the home we had just purchased.
Let me tell you a little about my father. Please excuse my oversharing but this is a man who lost his home to a foreclosure in 2008 during the mortgage crisis. This is a man who was priced out of the Valley and had to move out to high desert area in order to own a home. My father, a very kind man, doesn’t trust just anyone because of his experiences with shady real estate agents. But my father saw the quality and professionalism in Mr. Jones.
My father is a monolingual Spanish speaker, and Mr. Jones made sure that someone who spoke Spanish was in constant communication with my father. This is what it’s all about ladies and gentlemen: Providing access and quality services to everyone regardless of language, race and creed. Beyond all of this, Mr. Jones and his team have shown that they are simply high quality human beings.
I write this review today from the comfort of my home in the Valley, where I now get to see my parents living happily and close to our extended family. We are just days away from closing on the sale of my father’s home and we couldn’t be happier.
We are truly blessed to know Mr. Jones and his team at MM. Please don’t hesitate to reach out in case you have questions about my experience.
